we use these ones at work hauling skids of ammo around with a pivoting front axle. Having two pivot points so close to each other is like having a snake behind you. You CANNOT pivot around when backing up, it locks up if you move 1" right or left.

The pivoting front axle does allow you to make some pretty sick turns that you would never be able to make with a regular trailer. But backing up is either a fine art or near impossible

yeah ours also have a compression brake so backing one up is possible on level ground if you don't apply fast movements.

where do you work?

I pull/push airplanes around at the campus airport. When doing this there are also 2 pivot points within a few feet of each other. You have the connection between the tow bar and the tug, then you have the connection between the tow bar and the plane. It takes a lot of practice but you learn how to control it. Unlike a normal trailer setup, you have to turn in the direction you want the tail of the plane to go. The nose gear on most planes can't be turned more than 15 degrees. So if you go past that point you just completely screwed the front end.

Yea, backing up a so called wagon is possible i guess. With our little deal you can take 15 minutes to back up a little ways, or just go forward lol. I said impossible, I guess I wasnt trying to be literal. It is a biatch, and alot harder to do . So I guess the easiest way to answer the OPs question is that normal trailers are EASIER

Have you ever seen a tractor towing a hay wagon down the road at 20 mph. It is all over the place. As said before it looks like a snake going down the road.
