Default Upgrading headlights with Daytime running lights

I was looking at upgrading my bulbs but was wondering if having daytime running lights would be an issue? I was thinking of the Philips +50 or +80 but did not know if that would put a big load on my wiring having them run all day

As I understand it the daylight running lights run at 50% voltage. I would think the issue would be can the bulbs handle running at the reduce voltage.

do they run at reduced voltage, or are they pulsed at full voltage at high frequency?

I believe they use the high beams as DRL's just at a reduced wattage.

I think I saw somewhere that they are pulsed. If I ran a relay to get more power to the headlights would this flip the relay on and off every pulse?
