Default Aftermarket Head Unit Installation

I have a flip out dvd player lined up for the truck and a friend told me that I'd need a bypass module to hook it up because of the factory unit. Can't really find anything using search. Anybody know about this, or can I just hook it straight up?

If yuo have the stock Infinity system then you need a certain harness so you can still use the OEM amp. If you dont have that system then you need a slight different harness so your new HU will power your door speakers.

So which is it that you have?

It's a Pioneer, but not quite sure on the model number. Cousin has it installed in his blazer right now.

I don't have the infinity right now, just the regular head unit. Is there still a factory amp in the truck?

If you dont have the infinty 7 speaker setup then all you need is the wiring adapter, just color it all up and youll be fine

no factory amp, the HU is sending the power. I guess you understand the parking brake bypass? Just hook it up

I think its only 06-08 that you have to have the power module deal. It is like 75-150, but like I said, I dont think you have to worry about it
