DIY Brakes?
This forum lacks some serious empathy for those who want to learn how to do something on their own. Some of the elitess members on this forum are psuedo when it comes to genuinely wanting to help others learn; apparently they just want to flaunt their lengthy mechanical resume and reign down pity and cynicism on those who do not match. Comparing a brake job to pumping gas is the ultimate insult and I don't take kindly to it. What the **** is the point to a forum if one of the most basic mechanical jobs isn't listed? That is making a sweeping assumption that everyone on this forum automatically knows how to do such. I'm incredibly disappointed and insulted.
Hell, I've done more DIY's on this and a few other forums than any single member. I almost don't touch my truck for anything anymore without doing a DIY. The only reason some of my major mods don't have one is because I did them before I was a member here or on any other forum. So I take particular offense when you say that I am "pseudo" in wanting to help others learn.
That said, I am getting really tired of your self serving attitude. You've been a whiny baby since you were "Neon" and really irked a lot of people with your crap in the 2nd Gen section about your transmission when you went against EVERYONE'S advice and got yourself screwed, then commenced to go on, and on, and on, and on about it. Not to mention all your "warranty" crap in this section. This is a technical forum, not a "I need a shoulder to cry on" therapy forum.
My advice to you is GROW THE HELL UP or go find yourself another forum to whine on. I assure you, most will not put up with half of the sh*t you pull on here!

I was clueless a couple years back when I did 1st brake job on wife's caravan. The
pictures and instructions on the store bought repair manuals sucked (for a newbie
tinkerer). The internet is a great place, did some googling and found tutorials with great
pics and detailed instructions. I guess I should take pics and do the same when I
do a project, it will help the next guy. I've mostly lurked here and gotten mucho good
advice.

I didn't take any pics when I did it yesterday, because I wasn't sure what I was doing. By the time I had it figured out, it was all back together, and I sure as heck wasn't taking it apart again!

I think you need to find a forum that teaches you the english language. If you READ my post, I said "TO ME" it would be like doing a DIY on pumping gas, so I never really even looked to see if we had a DIY on it, and asked you to do a service to others who were not brought up around doing things for themselves on vehicles. There was NO insult intended.

I'm not much of a writer, but I've been hearing a screech coming from the right front when I brake, and I've never done brakes before, so maybe I should do a write up from a noobs perspective.

How many miles do you have on your 07 ram linerjoe? i have an 06 with 55k and the factory installed pads on mine seem like they look about halfway used up on both sides. I honestly dont know what mileage a normal brake change would be. I just keep an eye on them at every other oil change when i rotate my tires.

a brake job with disc brakes is about as easy as removing 4 bolts, pullin the old pads out, squeezin the piston with a c-clamp, putting the new ones in exactly like the old ones were and puttin the 4 bolts back in. drum brakes are a different story...
