4BT in a yota eh? Nice! Will it be turbo'd or just a good ol' 4BT out of a delivery truck or somethin? Deffinately bad *** when compared to a 350 chev swap that most people do to their yotas...
And yeah, toyota did make a diesel for their pickups (still does) but it was only a 2.2L or thereabouts and it was naturally aspirated...thing made like 80 horse and only 130 ft lbs of torque Oh well, it was mostly meant for outside north america anyways haha On the otherhand watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWc_flGRT_o

the 4bt is a nice motor, i know of several swaps into jeeps. i considered doing a 6bt swap in the old truck when it was new motor time, but decided it wasn't worth all the work and money for the adapter plates and PCM/ECM. Good luck with the install and post pics of the build! Cummins is the only way to go!

yea a guy suggested a little diesel when i blew the motor in my lil yota. He had one sitting around or something, went with the v6 gasser instead due to my lack of diesel knowledge. I have a buddy who owns a hot rod shop that put a CTD in his 78 corvette body on a bronco frame (on 44s).

The old toyota pickups (before the tacoma) had a diesel option in other countries, but I heard you could order them here or something. A guy on my yota forum has one and it sounds like a freaking tractor (he has a flapper on the exhaust stack)
