I think you'll be fine, but I bought red caliper paint when I did mine anyway. It was only like a two bucks more than the regular Dupli at the auto parts store. Bought enough to do the calipers too, but I ain't got a damn jack or set of stands tall enough to clear the tires off the ground. LOL.

I hit it with a quick coat of adhesion promoter first and the paint really stuck well.

I did mine on the truck, just taped it really well and draped an old blanket above it. I was only about 3800 miles into the new diff fluid when I decided to do it, so I was not about to remove it so my bolts are painted as well as the plug. So when it's diff fluid time, I know I'll have to pry the plug and break the paint seal on the bolts. I already have a purdy set of stainless allen head bolts to go in when I change the fluid next time.

AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS A WORD, THE DECAL ON THE SLIDING WINDOW HAS BEEN SCRAPED OFF. Just waiting on the new decal to arrive to stick it on...

I used the engine enamel as well with two coats of primer. Its holding up well. I think regular paint will be okay as long as it is prepped well.

Paint for outdoor grills should work, too. Back when I lived next to Fred Flintstone, I painted the wheels on my Chevy with engine paint.
