Default New guy asking for help

Hello all, I have a 2006 Ram 1500. I recently had a roaring sound coming from the rear. I found a caliper to be stuck so I got a new caliper, brakes and rotors for the rear. Then I found this:

I have the backing plate ordered from Dodge and I am planning on replacing it this weekend. My question is what kind of job am I getting myself in too? I am mechanicly inclined as that is my profession but I work on tractor trailer, Heavy trucks. Any advice or helpful hints will be greatly appreciated. I bought a Haynes manual for it and it list nothing about replacing this plate.

Hi, Welcome to the forum! I don't have any personal experience in replacing this but I found this out of the 2004 service manual. Should be similar to what you have. These are the two pages that cover replacing the back support plate.
