Default Not ur typical Exhaust Question

so i was up under my truck today looking how my exhaust was ran because i will be installing the cherry bomb extreme within the next couple weeks.... well i noticed i have two cats comin off the headers into one pipe and then the pipe is split into with a y-pipe.... so my question is should i replace those two cats with one cat on the pipe with the SI/DO CB EX? would that make it louder? or make it sound just about right? because i notice even with straight pipes its not as loud as u think so could that be because it has two cats? i wouldnt replace the straights but the crackin and popin is annoying

ditto, and keep the two cats. Two always flow better than one. Choose your muffler carefully, do it right and itmake you happy for a long time.

for what its worth, i have longtube headers straight into a y-pipe through a SIDO magnaflow muffler. The magnaflow is the only restriction whatsoever, and I never get any popping or anything

Either have a y-pipe custom made at the exhaust shop or buy one and have them install it. Here's one for under $30.
