Towing advice
Can it do it? YES... I tow a 7700# Kubota with a big a$$ box blade on a very heavy dual axle trailer a couple times every year and judging by the way it handles, you can do on a one time basis with no real problems.

HOWEVER, by exceeding the manufacturer's rated capacity, your insurance company can and probably will deny coverage should an accident occur. If this is YOUR FAULT and God forbid an injury should result, you could stand to lose everything in a lawsuit.
IMO, the risk would be worth finding someone you know with a 3/4 ton OR renting one for the day...

Runs like a top... It actually belongs to the grandparents of a buddy of mine who owns the small piece of land we have up there. So we borrow it time to time when we have to do some rough cutting. Have to take it the 12 miles or so from there place to ours and back.
We had a beautiful '59 John Deere gasser that I was gonna try to restore, but the third guy who owns the land with us had a little "mishap" on the highway with a vehicle. It's now in unrepairable pieces!!!

Thanks guys.
I still haven't decided if I will use my truck or not.
Right now from the conversations, I am leaning towards finding another option.
Thanks for all the feedback.
I know I have had the truck overloaded before and it did fantastic.
Thanks again!

I am sure either way you will be fine. The only real issue with you using your truck is are you confident that you the driver can handle the load and stay safe. Id say if the answer is yes, then by all means use your truck. However, If the answer is no, Rent something a little better suited to the load to make the haul easier on you. (Hopefully that makes sense.) Many people have done it, So we know it is doable, However, Being over the rating limit places lot more responsibility on you the driver.
Though I would like to state again, If you do use your truck unhitch as soon as you get there so you don't damage your springs.
