they are polished aluminum. not chrome. from what i have read it is hard to get straight aluminum to shine like chrome does. gonna take some elbow grease.

Default Coating??

I tried some Mother's mag and aluminum polish on them and it didn't turn black at all. When I tried it on the back side of the wheel the polish turned black but when I use it on the front nothing happens at all. Could these wheels be coated with something?

hand polishing wont do anything for those, youll have to get them machine polished.

Default coated

After closer inspection these polished aluminum rims also have a layer of clearcoat on them. I imaging these came on the wheel. I just put them on the truck without polishing them. Has anybody ever had the clear sodablasted off then done a really good sanding/polishing/finishing job on these?

Pick up a mothers powerball and buff them up a bit. They'll shine but its never going to be a reflective mirror look like chrome
