haha, try getting up the courage to cut a 14x24 hole in the roof. That's what I did to install the sun roof in my Dakota. No measuring, just set the sunroof on the truck and outlined w/ a marker then cut away. Turned out pretty good if I do say so.

Do all of the 1500s come pre-wired at the A-Pillar on the pass side?? Or is that a 2500/3500 thing?

Yeah, I wanna know the answer of that question too...If the 1500s come prewired already that will be a major convenience. Also, in the description of the recon lights says that they are direct replacement. Well, I don't have them on my truck to begin with, so does the kit comes with all the wiring and hardware? Someone that has actually done this, please chime in. Thanks!

ne they do not but they do have ignition and park light wires going up the pillar you can tap into.
did the smoke on my 2006 cummins and turned out great
also i did the recon lights on my old 2000 chevy and turned out fairly nice.
install took around an 1.5 hours.
but that was becasue i have done them before.

no worries about drilling if you make sure you seal them right.

also yes 2500 lights will fit your 1500.

i currently dont have pics of my ram but i will try soon
but here is my chevy.
