Default Dual exhaust question???

Well the mod bug has finally set in... I have decided that I want my truck to be louder, and sound better. I have been talking to the guy at the local exhaust shop and he said that the only way he could run duals legally is to run a single in/dual out muffler. So here is the question, since I wouldn't be running true duals all the way back anyways, would I get the same performance gains out of running a single in/single out performance muffler? And what would be the best muffler to run?

I just listened to my buddys true dual yesterday and it really didnt sound much different from a truck without true duals with flowmasters. go to the exhaust thread in the FAQ and listen to hammers cherrybomb extreme, thats wat did, and i just ordered mine last night. and there is also alot of good info on T duals and mufflers

I have heard mixed things about true duals, some people say unless you have a truly gnarly build you will actually lose power with true duals over si/do.

IMO, I think with true dual u wouldnt have much pressure to create that deep low rumble as with a SI DO, if that even makes since to you guys

Thanks Hoss. I like the sound of the CB Extreme. How much louder, if any would it be to run a single in/dual out muffler over single in/single out? It would be about $150 cheaper to run a single out.
