Known issues affecting 08 1500's?
I did a search and couldn't find anything. Is there a FAQ, or established thread that compiles known issues for our 3rd Gen Rams?
Mine is an 08 QC 4X4 6sp manual, barely over 9K miles.
All I've determined so far is:
The Getrag 238 trans is OK, not particularly loved.
For my rear diff, go for Auburn or Eaton/Detroit. (Dodge OE sucks.)
Are there problems with the suspension to look out for after xxx miles?
Should I change my diff fluid at yyy miles?
Do certain seals go away too soon?
I'm seeing a huge collective knowledge base here, but I can't tell much from searching if some problems are common, and others not.
(Also I'll try to do better on my tags to help other searchers.)

Welcome to DF.
Some known problems are:
Balljoints/tierods at low mileage
Stock LSD retaining clips literally falling out of the carrier causing sometimes catasprophic failure (ruining the entire rear end in some cases)
Door seals leaking
MDS sucks..get yourself a tuner to disable it..wait..do manuals have MDS??? (only 5w-20 as stated in owners manual)
stock stuts/shocks are a bit bouncy
If you install and aftermarket catback or remove the resonators and MDS is active, you will be very annoyed (sounds like a pulsating/drowning Helicopter)
Diff fluids...front every 30kmi and rear every 15kmi(if towing/hauling)
Common "Hemi tick" will start whenever, mine began it's life at just 400miles. Sounds like lifter tick although it's not. No worries on that, just annoyance
Everything else can be found in the FAQ section. There is a link at the top of the main 3rd gen page.

-The wheel bearings/hubs wear out at unusually low milage
-The front suspension pretty much sucks, and the trucks tend to bounce around turns if the road has any irregularities. The front shock/struts have a tendency to leak out.
The blend door in the hvac system is of a bad design, and will eventually break, hopefully while still under warranty.
-If you have the chromed plastic wheels, take real good care of them because they get pitting on them really quick if you drive on any salted roads in the winter.
-If you are planning on lifting the truck, don't bother unless you have alot of cash to change the whole front suspension set up.
That's just my experience, and what I've learned so far.
