Help with idle !!!
O2 Ram 1500 SLT 4.7L 2WD
So over the last couple of days I've noticed that my RPM's are only sitting at 500 - 600. I was told from someone at work that it should sit at about 800 or 900. I can even tell when I'm just sitting idle that's my truck is idling really low just by the way it's running. How do I go about setting my idle a little higher ?
Thanks

Your idle rpm's don't sound all the bad and the suggestion of 8-900 is too high IMO.
How long has it been since you have removed and throughly cleaned the TB? If you've never cleaned it, remove it and use a can of spray carb cleaner to clean off the build up on the inside of the bore and throttle blade. Pay close attention to the IAC port and the tip of the IAC sensor. Be careful not to push or pull on the tip or you'll get it out of adjustment. After you've replaced the TB, disconnect the negative battery cable for 1-2 minutes to reset the PCM. Start the engine and let it idle (DO NOT REV) until it comes up to operating temp. Shut it off, restart and go for a drive. The PCM will have to relearn the part throttle positions so the more you drive it the better it should get. Good luck!
