Question Today's Jeopardy Question

The Answer..."This system on an '02 Dodge with a 360 gas engine tells the PCU to dump more fuel into the engine." What is.....

Spent some money with the mechanic today for a couple things, one I was to lazy to change the water pump on my truck, while he was there he changed the bypass hose and timing gears and chain. I also needed him to diagnose the problem I've been having with the engine running rough shortly after start-up. It will work its way out of it or just shut off and restart and everything is fine. He diagnosed a computer problem again...no codes though. Either the computer is faulty or something is telling the computer that the engine needs more fuel, hence the jeopardy question...

Any thoughts? By the way the computer is a reprogrammed unit from Computer Exchange, a place in Florida.

It might be a o2 sensor, since you said it happens shortly after start up(when the system is trying to go to closed loop),or a bad coolant temp sensor.

No, 108,XXX but he was there and noticed the cover needed a gasket and them saw some chain wear so he changed them out. The gasket was damn near the same price as chain and sprocket.

Any reason why it wouldn't do it after an immediate restart?

if the coolant sensor is sending the wrong voltage signal to the pcm it would call for more fuel(cold start).
