I gotta admit, I'm not a big SeaFoam guy with my vehicles, but I have used it forever as a gas stabilizer for all my outboards, generators and yard tools due to sporadic use. My last bass boat had a 175 HP on it, is a 1999 and has a ton of hours on it. I sold it to a buddy who just had it tuned up and the shop couldn't believe how good it looked inside for the hours on it!
As a rule, I don't use it on my truck or Jeep. Not that I don't trust it, but there are just other products I use such as Lucas "tune up in a bottle"...

Maybe its worked for you guys but as a general rule any additive is bad for a vehicle. I see the results from 1 vehicle, have never run seafoam in any of my vehicles and ill tell you it's a waist of time and money, you don't put this stuff directly into the engine like they state I have seen on every engine I have torn down if seafoam was aplied to it on a regular basis it caused a lot of things to go wrong

Seafoam is snake oil IMO. Might as well pour some diesel in my oil maybe ATF just for the hell of it. That lucas oil conditioner was a crock of **** too. Poured some it and it ate a liter of oil almost instantly. It was phucked up. Gas goes in the tank oil goes in the crank. Nothing more. Truck has almost 150k on it still runs strong. Oh and the 87 octane thing is a myth too IMO. Truck has run 87 exclusively for 140k I just put in 91 once running the SC.

Hey, I know someone who smoked cigs their whole life and never got cancer before they died of other causes.

Smoking cigs must not actually cause cancer. Myth

Are you aware of all the research and development that oil companies do to formulate a all the additives they put in your gas and a can of oil BEFORE you put it in your vehicle?
If you think that's straight gas and straight oil you are putting in your truck, I got a bridge for sale for you.

As for the SeaFoam, again, as a rule I don't use it in my vehicles, but I had a weed whacker that was about 12 years old, cranked fine, but as soon as you put a load on it, it would stall. Obviously the tiny carb was clogged and probably shot. At the age of the thing, it made no sense to spend the money on rebuilding the carb, so off the the garbage can it was going to go. For the hell of it, I filled about a third of it's small tank with SeaFoam and added about an equal part of gas. Cranked it up and it spit and sputtered for a few moments, but the idle got noticeably stronger over about two minutes. Gradually started giving it some gas and easing off when it was about to stall. After about two more minutes of this (and watching it smoke like a SOB) it really smoothed out and started smoking less. Hit the throttle all the way and it ran like a champ!
That was about two years ago and to this day, every time I mow the yard, I use that weed whacker to trim...

I always have a can of that "snake oil" in my tool shed...

This again....

What you don't realize is that the pcm will pull timing to compensate for the lower octane. Sure, it runs just fine. Except your losing torque, hp, mpg.... Get yourself a KR gauge and go wot with a tank of 87. Report back with your results. Also, look at your lt kr. I have a gauge that reports kr and I've seen it with the 87. I especially love watching it go crazy when towing with 87!

Seafoam works fine when used properly. It isn't meant to be used frequently! Use half a can in the brake booster every 50-75k miles or so to clean gunk from the intake & pistons. Change the oil after doing so.

Use it in the oil for 10 minutes before a change (again, every 50-75k miles, not EVERY change!) -- then change the oil! Yes, ATF will do the same thing.

Sure I'd prefer to use BG brand products but since I don't the equipment to do it, the Seafoam will have to do. Used correctly it won't hurt anything at all.

Sonofabiatch, I already bought a new weedwacker!

I still got the old one though... ...I'll be givin' that snake oil trick a go! For the record, I use Seafoam because it works.
