Exclamation Sub System / Battery

Hey, so i have a 02 Ram 1500 SLT Reg Cab Short Box 2WD. Right now i have a 12" kicker Cvt with a Kicker 300 Watt amp hooked up. I just bought 2 Pioneer 12" Subs, with a 800 Watt amp..i forget what kind right now. Im gonna put it in this week. I saw a picture of a Reg Cab truck with a system behind the seats, and the guy had a battery behind the seats JUST for the system. I just wanna no what other people think of that because i am thinking of doing the same thing..having a battery behind my seats JUST to power my Subs/Amps. My only concern right now is wont the battery die if i play my subs for too long ? Let me know what you think of the idea of a seperate battery behind the seats...thanks

Alot of people do that but they use a battery isolator so the second battery can be charged by the alternator but wont drain the main battery. look for a AMG style battery since they are more compact and suited for systems.

Do you mean AGM battery? Assorted Glass Mat. Ex. Optima/Diehard Platinum. They use glass and gel and have a higher CCA and Reserve capacity. Ideal for systems.

Also keep in mind you want a SEALED type battery (usually gel-cell like Optima) for use INSIDE the cab because 1) you dont want acid in the truck and 2) when charging there are gasses put off in that process.

Here are some battery isolators for real
