Mine seems to idle a little rough, not enough to affect the RPMs, but not real smooth either. I was just wondering if that is normal. I don't want to be trying to fix something that isn't broken.
When I cleaned it originally I used carb/throttle cleaner, but I didn't remove the throttle body. I held the blade open, and scrubbed the back side with a toothbrush, then wiped clean.
Taking it off is reallllllyyy easy....So I don't see why you wouldn't go ahead and take it off. I did mine the other day and it literally took me 15 minutes to get it off, clean it, and put it back on.
my idles very jumpy. i have cleaned the throttle body and i was looking for the egr, but i have no idea where it is i looked around for about an hour today to try and find it with no luck. can anyone point me to where it would be in a 4.7L
You can clean the EGR but because it is an emssions device you should replace it as a whole and also since it is cheap.

Not break cleaner but brake cleaner and there are no gaskets on the TB. The gasket is on the intake which you do not remove. Either way with carb or brake cleaner, you want it to be non-chlorinated.
