Home Brew CAI guys chime in...
Where are you guys getting your Magnaflow Y pipes? They told me on the phone that they were still in R&D and have not been released yet. Also in regard to this whole CAI issue. Wouldnt you need to adjust your fuel mixture richer when putting a CAI on? That may solve any problem of loss-too lean maybe? Just my 2 cents.

Yep, this is what the PCM will adjust for over a period of time. You can also do what I did and install a cooler thermostat to keep the PCM in OPEN LOOP. I did it because my CAI, LT Headers AND SC in performance mode ALL work to lean you out and the cooler thermostat forces open loop for a continuous richer mix...
Oh, and I've known people who've gotten a Magnaflow "Y" well over a year ago.

This has gone a little farther than I expected... The fact of the matter is that I could not tell an improvement on a basically stock truck (with the exception of a SI/SO performance muffler). The truck felt like it lost a little bit of its down low power. I put the stock intake back on, returned the filters, bought window tint and supplies to change the oil. I am happy. Either way with the stock airbox or CAI, I'm still driving a RC Hemi that will move for a full size truck...
What bitch fest? I thought some very valid questions were asked here...
and as far as Ryan going back to his stock intake, it's prolly a smart move. A CAI is not much good without other mods. The only reason to put in a CAI without opening up the exhaust is to look and sound cool, there isn't any noticeable performance benefit in a CAI alone...
