Question CAI with or without heat shield

I'm new here, i've been thru every post and i'm going to make my own CAI. Now, the heat shield is it a must? And the TBS is it a good investment?

So, there's no significant gain from that side (TBS)

Thank's, just what i needed to reject the AEM. It was one of the advantage i taught he had.
What about heat shiel. And till we're there, does a superchip flashpaq is an option to consider for hauling a travel trailer

Heat shield really depends on what kind and where you are putting it. SC can help but so will gears when it comes to pulling a trailer

i made mine CAI, and dont have a heat shield. Might make a shield for it because i do a little offroading and dont feel like getting splash up from water into the filter

If you're hauling a travel trailer, change the gears!!!! You're running 3.55's. Not a good thing IMO. I have a homemade CAI and I'm not running a heat shield but I have mine in the bottom of the factory air filter box.
