4.56's in my truck the way i drive would koll my mileage espec. when towing aq 29ft travel trailer. i already get 13.7 for an average now.
negative! dont fear the gear. most people dont realize it, but with the way our trannys are geared, the lower gears help you more than hinder you. especially since you tow. they will also help with your mileage in town. thats right, make your city driving mileage BETTER, not worse. not to mention the boost in low end TQ and acceleration you will gain. the gears will keep your motor running right in the sweet spot on the tach. and your tranny will quit searching around for gears so much. the only thing it will negatively effect will be HWY mileage. but only by 1 mpg or so. i have a 2500 with 4.56's and i still avg over 17 mpgs on the FWY

Yup, I agree with that completely EXCEPT my HWY mpg went up along with the city mpg.
john about what $ did you pay to put your 4.56s in i know it varies but just lookin for ball park figure
about $900, and it was totally worth it. but my cost is going to be MUCH higher, since gears for my 10.5 rear are much more expensive, and i live in SoCal, and everything is expensive here.
