2007 Ram Big Horn Towing Capacity
New here guys, I currently own a 2000 Ram QC with the big 360 and class IV towing package in it. Towing a '99 Mustang and 18' trailer to show pretty frequently with no problems with this rig.
I'm considering a 2007 Big Horn QC with 18K miles. Sweet looking ride with no miles onit. Has the 4.7L with 3.92 gears and 20" wheels. Does not appear to have the tow package because no class IV hitch and only a 4 pin pigtail harness out back. Does have an auxilary Trans cooler on the options list. Question is, in this form is it up to the task of pulling my Mustang and Trailer? This tow combo is about 5000 lbs and I pull it in the Northeast so its not exactly flat out here, but it not the Rockies either.
The 2000 does a great job but I just passed 100K miles on it. Just wondering if the 4.7 I'm looking at will get eaten up over time.

Check out this web site. You can see what the towing capacity is for any Dodge.

The 4.7 can tow 5000 lbs but I can bet it won't be as easy as with the 5.7.
It also depends if the truck is a 4x4 and if it is an auto/manual.
