Default AMP Power Steps longevity

Anyone have the AMP Power Steps on their truck? I've had them on mine for probably about three years now, and as something motorized with moving parts I know it is only a matter of time before one of them stops working for some reason. Anyone here have any experience with them? Just wondering if I should be expecting an issue anytime soon or if these things last forever.

Before someone says to just get tube steps or something (cheaper and no chance of mechanical malfunction), I need the power steps due to a limiting physical condition. The power steps are the only boards I've found that come down and out far enough to let me get in the truck. Then they tuck away. Anything that hung down that far as a permanent fixture would get torn off pretty quick!
