Default Aftermarket headlight suggestions?

I was looking at my lights on my '04 today, as I'm quite underwhelmed by the stock headlight performance, and noticed one of them is a factory knockoff by TYC. That means my driver's side fog is a TYC and my passenger side headlight is also a TYC.

I'd like to upgrade the headlights, I'm not so sure I want the hassles of HID's (and the legal troubles), does anyone know if any of the aftermarket halo/projector manufacture's products will out-perform the stock lights?

I understand that it's preferred to avoid anything based on H1 bulbs, as they aren't a terrific design in the first place.....

Thoughts? (I'd like to keep costs down, so no high end Oracle stuff for me)

Why not just change the bulbs to something brighter? I have halos and to tell you the truth they arent better than the stock headlights I had but the foglights make up for it. Just my .02.

Sparta - any chance the faded housings are the result of the high UV content of the HID light source?
