$2000 sucks to spend on an unnecessary expense for sure. no one likes to spend that kinda money on something just to get the truck back the way it was. its like just burning it.

well, we got something out of it in a way. I didnt have rental coverage so instead of renting a car for $800, i bought one for $1000 plus my deductible and all the other BS that came up. So now we have a dodge stratus in the family as well haha. but yes, it was a dilemma i would rather not have dealt with for sure.

but its towing season so airbags are coming real soon. gotta do my trans temp gauge and blocks this weekend first.....

For the guys that have bags without an onboard compressor, where are you mounting the fill stem/valve?

look at my first post lol. Thats generally where most people put them. Either the bumper, hitch, liscense plate, etc. The instructions say you could also put it behind the fuel door which is an interesting idea, or in the wheel well which i dont like at all for fear of getting broken by debris.

^^^ My bad. I read your original post and even looked at the pics but didn't notice it at first glance. Guess I would have to think about what location would be best on my truck. Getting this truck with RV hooked up in some gas stations is a PITA...can't always find a truck stop.

Yeah I found that the rear hitch was the best place, the hole was already there and was a perfect size...

lucky you hammer... i had to drill all my holes. 4 on each side plus the two on the hitch. and none of it is easy!! both the frame metal and hitch metal are known to be HARD.

There were no holes in your hitch? I wonder when they changed that?

and I wasn't about to drill into the frame for those bolts, once I saw those brackets it was a given I was welding them on. Took me longer to get the welder out and setup than the actual welding!

I know about drilling the frame. When Pyro picked up 'Weeds grille guard the bracket holes didn't line up on the mount. Got on Warn's website and found that the '02 has the tow hook bracket holes in a different configuration than the '03+ 3rd Gens.

So we had to drill the four holes for them. Better than an hour of switching between the two of us drilling and switching between the air drill to allow my tank to refill and a hammer drill and ON THE THIRD BIT (the first one was shot when we started), there were four holes!!!

I am running it off a modified four pin trailer pig tail extension for a set of ATV lights I mounted on one of those Bully hitch mounted steps. I do a LOT of night fishing in Georgia and there are times the lights at the back tailgate come in handy. The upside is it cost me a buck for the pigtail extension and two for the switch, is water tight at the connector and took me 20 minutes to make. The downside is I have to go to the cab to turn my running lights on to get power to it. But it works...
