What OEM CD Players compatible with 2003 Dodge 1500 Quadcab?

My truck came with AM/FM Cassette and I need at least a CD in there.

I'm not interested in a huge rewiring and my audio needs are simple.

Some of the dealers on eBay show 2002-2003 of the following fit:
300M,dakota,1500,cherokee,intrepid,liberty,cruiser ,sebring,stratus,country,voyager,caravan,concorde, neon

But just looking at them a few are obviously different shaped.

I think the 2003 came with the option of the indash unit with a six disc unit on a string under the back seat?

Could I put the 6 disc indash unit from the 2007 in this truck plug and play, or ?

Thanks very much!

I'd consider selling you mine, as I have an aftermarket to put in, just haven't done so yet; out of laziness. I have the wiring kit, the dash install kit, and the Pioneer receiver all sitting under the driver seat. But do you think I can find the 15 minutes (and 6 beers) it'd take me to change it out??? Here is a link of what mine looks like, I believe it should be the same. Keep in mind this is NOT my pic, simply one I found online. If you are honestly somewhat interested, I can take a couple pics of my actual unit and we could go from there. Anyway, PM me or continue this thread if interested.

You're pretty close to me, but I have this one in my 2005 durango, and I think it will not be plug and play in my dash, which has the 2002-2003 oval cutout?

Anyone know whether these all have both the 10pin and 22pin connectors?

I guess I am limited to the 2002-2006 unit with either:

the indash 6 disc combined unit:

or the underslung 4 disc changer?

(just out of curiousity, why does the 4 disc one have 5 CD selector buttons on the head unit? I know zilch about audio, so does #5 ride in a default "play" slot or ?)

If I recall correctly.... The RAM's changed over in 07 to the "newer" style squarish type stereo that you see up to 08 or 09 I believe. If you look at Dakota's, they changed over in 05 (so I think 2000-2004). The Jeep Liberty to 05 or 06 probably has the same stereo as you, along with 2000 and up Chrysler cars, minivans etc. I am not 100% sure on the 2000 start, but most are about then. The early 2000 Jeeps also have that stereo. They should just plug and play, either the single disc in dash, or 6 disc in dash. I don't ever recall seeing that 4 disc add-on you show. You may also be able to find an after market disc changer with universal type cables that will work with your existing head unit. There used to be ones that played mp3 discs and plugged into the factory harness. They may not be around now though....

Of course, upgrading to an aftermarket CD/MP3 headunit is fairly cheap now as well, and probably cost just as much. They are easy to install with the wiring kits. Go over to Crutchfield.com and punch in some options. For less than $200 you can probably get a decent unit with all the parts and instructions to install. You'll pay at least $100 for a factory disc changer, and maybe close to that for an in dash factory unit at any wrecking yard. More if you go to the stealership.

I installed a JVC headunit, MP3 with aux input on front and USB. Cost was less than $200. And with a 4GB usb stick I never need CD's! I can make a long road trip and never repeat a song. Sound is better than stock too.

2002 redesign for both the Rams and Libertys. 2006 Rams started with the bigger stereo (like the LX cars) due to change from PCI to CAN bus. In addition to the 6 disc, there is one that is code RAH (in the oval face, I have one in my truck) that will play single regular or MP3 CD's. I make 1 disc with about 150-160 tracks on it.
