Default four headlight wiring question

Anybody install the projector headlight kit with separate hi/los? what did you do to keep your low beams on while using your high beams. The stock wiring turns off the low beams when turning on the high beam. Looks dumb!

You can run a 30/40 SPDT relay with 30 to batt, 85 to ground, 87 to the low beams and 86 coming from the + side of the high beams.

This way when you turn on the highs, the high beams send power thru 86 and with 85 grounded, the coil energizes which switches the contacts closed and sends battery power from 30 to 87 which goes to the low beams

This will likely work. However, in order to eleminate the chance of the voltage damaging anything "upstream", I'd recommend cutting the + side of the low-beam wire. Connect 87a to the switch side of the low-beam wire you just cut. connect 30 to the headlight side of the low-beam wire you just cut. connect 87 to the batt+. and connect 85 and 86 like Weedahoe said.

please post a review regarding how you like the projectors and their relative output once you are done.

Oh, and pics.

Default Thanks for the info!

I'll let you know when I get the right bulbs in and everything hooked up properly.
