Well, 5k ago i changed my castrol 5w30 to amsoil 520 and now due to the convienence of wally world i now run pennzoil platnum 5w20. When i was talkn to my dad today and told him i run 520 now he acted like i just shot someone, its a 04 hemi. And it calls for 5w30 but no one has synthetic around here in 530 just 5w20. Does it make a difference i put over 6k on 520 w/ no problems? Ne suggestions

Skip the synthetic and go back to conventional. Unless you plan to make the entire drive train synthetic, the tiny savings won't amount to much. Go with the weight the truck wants. The 5w-20 was a feeble attempt by the manufacturers to improve the mileage numbers. Both my Hemis and the Camry use conventional. I only use synthetic in my Mazda because of the turbo.

Oops, I missed it: Thank you for serving.
