Default Truck died yesterday, got some codes for you guys..

Posted about my 03 with a 5.7 Hemi. Pulled the codes and they are as follows:

0456- Gascap
0440- also cap
0344- camshaft sensor, my friends tester said intermittent..
2108- dunno, didn't come up on obd-codes.com
2106- also didn't come up

I'm going to start by pulling my TB and giving it a good cleaning.. Any other suggestions?

2108 is for the electronic throttle control. Chances are that it needs to be cleaned,
the best way to clean the TB is to remove it. Use non-chlorinated brake cleaner

DO NOT FORCE THE THROTTLE PLATE---LEAVE IT CLOSED WHILE YOU'RE CLEANING IT.

2106 is not listed

The gas cap dtc may also be caused by evap system leaks, usually caused by dried or rotting rubber hoses at the charchol canister and the solenoid (up front). Its best to inspect the whole evap system--(easy)--and replace any hoses that are even cracked.

So, cleaned the TB. it was pretty nasty. My truck came with an AIRRAID CAI on it already, and I think the filter may have been over-oiled, since it was pretty nasty in the airbox too.

Seems to idle a bit smoother too, so thats a bonus. We'll see. I'm gonna wash it up and take her for a spin.

Aw, crap, I just re-read your post about leaving the butterfly closed. Well, i didn't. Is it going to be a problem?

no it wont be a problem. if you have surging problems or anything light that, just recalibrate the throttle. Theres a DIY in the 3rd Gen FAQ. Then again theres pretty much a diy for anything you can think of. If there isnt one for something you're doing, make one!

Cool. I'm new to this board, and I wish I had found it sooner. Thts alright tho. I'll post some before and afters of my truck once I get my levelling keys in. Hopefully a set of 35's wont be too far behind.
