I just purchased an 04 Ram 1500 and I'm very happy with my first Dodge truck. I have a question about my door locks, when I start driving around 15 to 20 mph the doors lock fine but when I park I have to unlock the doors manually. Is this normal or should the door locks open automaticlly, what should I check. Thank you..

 

they dont unlock automatically .. i think there is a procedure to turn this feature off but idk how .. try searcing the forum

 

Uhh I pretty sure before I put on my alarm the front doors unlock when you put the truck back in park, but maybe its my alarm doing that? Besides the front doors should unlock when you pull on the handle anyway.

 

on my quad cab.. i think the front doors unlock but the rear ones stay locked

I spent some time in the truck today and I noticed that if I turn the ignition off then open my door all four locks open but if I open the door before I turn the truck off only my door opens.... I guess that solves that problem and on to the next... Thank you very much for your input.
