Default 2004 ram 1500 radio problem

2004 dodge ram 1500 quad cab with infinity system and steering wheel controls. i can start the truck 4 or 5 times and the radio plays as should. The next 4-5 times i start truck the radio powers up as it should with no sound coming from speakers. I have used a seperate speaker and jumper wire and touched connections to back of amp where wires go out to speakers and the seperate speaker will play? what gives? ive read forums till my eyes hurt and no one has had this problem. Is it my radio,my amp, wiring. I`m lost and wondering if ishould just scrap the whole infinity system an go with something diff? If so can i use current wiring or should i run new? do i have to use another amp? any help is appreciated .

The infinity system really isn't that premium. Your best bet is to just scrap the whole system. The cheapest option is to just bypass the infinity amp (behind the glove box) and take the speaker wires and run them to the output of the radio deck. As far as an amp, it would be better to get one if you had the money. You have to remember that the infinity system is a component system. That being said, If you want it to sound decent at all you will need to either have to get an amp and set your cross-overs to send only bass to the doors, or change out the 2 6x9's in the front doors. If you just change the speakers, it would sound alright, with the speaker wires ran to the output on the radio deck.
