Default Best battery????

So i am looking into a new batt and I am reading very little on what is really #1. Most people say just go with a Diehard, and those who run sound systems are going with the Optima yellow top, but i am wondering if anyone has a Braille battery? On paper the braille endurance has the optima yellow top beat, but for almost $300 I want the best investment. With the sound system in my truck and the way the temps vary in this state I just want the best. Had a diehard in my 01 cummins with a sound system and it was good but took forever to crank in the winter. Now that im running gas I want to hear what your running and what you think about what you have....

I still have the stock battery in both my '02 Grand Cherokee and my '04 truck. Both have the little indicator window and have always shown green.
I run extra lights on both and winches. Of course neither winch is used often, but the one on the truck gets run for long durations when it is used as it's seen a lot more tree clearing at the farm than unsticking vehicles.

I plan on Yellow top Optima's at the first hint that either one is starting to fail. My local Sam's Club has been listing them at $158 forever...

I still got stock battery on my 04. When it dies I'll probably get the biggest Everstart Maxx battery at Walmart that fits. They get good reviews and under 100 bucks.

I think that for $300, you can buy about four conventional batteries. Even at ridiculous loads that should be twelve to sixteen years.

When my stock 04 died, I replaced it with one of those Walmart Everstart batteries. 3 months later it was dead and wouldnt hold a charge anymore. I bought a yellow top from sams for $130 and everythings been good. I found out that after you deep cycle the everstart junk even once, you're pretty much screwed.

Yep, I stand corrected, the Yellow top is $128 at Sams, the Blue one is $158, I am guessing that's the deep cycle one?

yea the blue is their deep cycle marine battery. The yellow is their deep cycle car battery and the red is their standard car battery.

I've heard similar stories about Optimas and Diehards. There are always gonna
be lemons. The Everstart I put in wife's old Caravan going strong 5 years now.

The optima yellow top and blue top are the exact same battery, for the exception of the terminals. the blue top has a standard automotive post, and a stud post with a wing nut for most marine applications. The yellow top comes equipped with a standard top and side automotive post. the insides of the batteries are identical in every aspect. hope that clears that one up.
