when upgrading gears, should you also get the master set and or upgraded differential, or is it ok to just swap out old with new?

see like i said i didnt think it was all that complicated of a job just time consuming due to setting the proper back lash and making sure the pinion gear is at the proper distance. By any chance anyone have any pics of what the pattern should look like on the ring gear? I will be looking into some shop prices as well but that wont be for atleast another couple weeks when i get back from this **** hole country afghanistan. again guys appreciate all the input i will be posting some pics of my truck when i get back as this is not all i am doing to it. also anyone got a list of all tools needed for an easy install so i can check with my hobby shop on post to see if they have everything i need or not?

you can just swap old with new but you might as well change out all the bearings. here are the tools i rememeber:
3/8" impact
1/2" impact
dead blow hammer
regular hammer
decent sized punch (1/4"x 6"L)
your everyday socket set(dont rememeber any off the wall sizes, except i think the pinion was 1 1/4" but i may be wrong)
scraper
slide hammer(for bearing removal)
small to medium pry bar(makes it easy to seperate driveshaft from pinion yoke)
a good/accurate torque wrench
the preload/tension setting tool

i started the teardown the night before and put it all back together the next day

i cant think of anything else and if i do i will add it, i really wish i hade taken pictures, i was so excited about the mod that i was selfish and diddnt think about anybody else, and your gears will come with the charts to show you how the mesh pattern should look

Recommended is minor install kit when your existing carrier has under 30k miles on it, master install kit (preferrably with Timkin bearings) over 30k...

well at complete off road they have a package deal with the dana 44front and 9.25" rear gears and 2master install kits w/ bearings seals marking paint etc. for 586. the other thing i was wondering is if i need to get a new carrier i have read that i dont if i get thicker gears and if i dont want to go with thick gears then need to get a new case. Any thoughts on this?
