The Ram racks blow. My suggestion is to stop buying rebuilt junk from your local auto store. Try and find a quality rack by a company like Flaming River or other alike.
Rebuilt units are no where near as good as OEM and the OEM one's arent great to begin with.

Good racks can get costly, but I'd rather sopend $4oo or so on ONE rack than go through 3 crappy racks because you need an alignment each time which gets costly within itself. Can't expect quality out of a $100 or so rack. Just my .02

I've had the Rancho 4" lift on my '04 for almost five years and about 30,000 miles now and truck has a total of 49k miles on it and I am still on my original rack! So I'd say it's more a case of getting cheazy re-manned racks or having sh*tty installers.
IT'S NOT THE LIFT!

Little confused about your saying tie rods are new with the rack as the Rancho kit comes with much larger/beefier tie rods/ends made by Moog and are greasable where the stock ones are not. I don't even see how it's possible for stock size tie rods to be used? Is your shop getting new tie rods from Rancho or Moog every time they've replaced your rack? Something don't sound right here...
