Not to put a damper on the TOTM, but I've gotten a couple of complaints from the moderators of other sections this month about posts looking for votes.
I've got no problem whatsoever with posts in other sections asking them to come over and participate in the poll, but please - no "I need votes, come vote for me" posts.

I will own up to one of the transgressions. The moderator contacted me and after he explained what was and wasn't allowed I apologized. At the time it seemed to make sense to campaign for votes and did not know it is not allowed. Glad you brought this up as I am sure there are future nominees that may not know of this restriction.

My intent is not to "stir the pot" but rather to clarify, modify or delete Rule 9 for the next round of contestants.
