Default 2003 Quad cab Hemi Oil question

I recently got an 03 Ram 1500 quad cab with 84000 miles on it. I have the previous owners service record, and a list of when the services should be performed on it in the future. My question is, The oil in the truck now is Mobil 1 Synthetic, and he was pushing the oil changes to 6k miles. Whats a good recommened interval with mobil 1?

I only ask cause 7 quarts of it is kinda expensive every if i do it every 3k miles

6K should be fine. Depends a lot on how those miles are racked up. Highway is better than city. City mileage - you might want to shorten the interval. Oil gets dirty at the same rate, synthetic or conventional.

My '03 had 86K when I bought it in Aug. '07. The PO apparently used synthetic in it (found a receipt in the O/M). I use Pennzoil Hi-Mileage in it now, changed about every 4K (yearly ). Pennzoil Platinum is around $21 for a five-quart jug at Wally-World. Buy three and you're good for two oil changes.

6K on mobil 1 is cake walk. If he did that then that engine has been well treated.
Hemi engine is easy on oil. I've used M1 in wife's Caravan for 10-12K intervals for
ten years and that engine still runs great. I removed the valve cover this summer
and it was spotless inside.
I've been more conservative with my truck and doing 8K changes but I know 10K
would be no problem.

OP: The key factor to notice here is that he was using synthetic oil and not conventional oil.

Going 6k on dino oil is pushing it but not on synthetic
