New Rims/Tires and on board air
Finally pulled the trigger on ordering rims and tires. Of course the body lift is still sitting on the counter in the garage, but I'm hoping to install it over the 4th of July weekend. Anyway, decided to go with the Pro Comp Extreme M/T 315/70-17 tires and Pro Comp 7098 rims.
Kind of a hair brained decision maybe, but instead of putting a correct size spare on the truck, I'm building a viair compressor into the toolbox so I'll have onboard air. For day to day driving, I figure onboard air and AAA should be good. Of course, for off-roading, that plan won't work. AAA really doesn't like coming out on the trail.
Am I seriously off my rocker for regular road use though?

i have 35" Pro Comp Exterrain's on for about a year before i decided to selll them and go with a good year duratrac.. my buddy bought his extremes same time i did and they seem to be a little bit better on the road. probably because they're alot less aggressive.
We both do on and offroad--more on road then off though. i kno i like my good years better though..and when i take them off road they still preform just as well

Finished installing the Viair in the toolbox and painted the box with Herculiner. I'll pick up the new rims and tires next weekend. But I did break down and order a spare tire mount for a full size spare. The one I got was part # 12008.9202 from Quadratec. It's meant for a Jeep, but I'll install it flat in the bed of the truck. Won't help carry room any, but that's what the car trailer is for right?

Seen a lot of bumper tanks around, good use of space. As a matter of fact, I met a guy at Moab this year that had built a full cage in his ***** that served as an air tank. He installed a pressure gauge in the original gas fill pocket and had a chuck on the back roll bar. Very sweet setup on a great old piece of iron.
I'm out in 29 Palms, almost due East from Lancaster. Nothing but sand and rock out here, but its beauty scenery.

Got the tires and wheels installed today. There's just a little bit of rubbing on the front edge at full lock depending on suspension travel. But the rubbing will be gone once I put the Bilstein leveling shocks and 3" lift on next weekend. I also installed the spare tire mount in the bed, and it worked great. Didn't do my bed space issue any good, but that's one of the reasons I bought my car trailer anyway. Gotta love having a spare 18' truck bed.
