Default Tach problems

I have a 2006 1500 and recently I noticed the tack will sometimes not work. It's almost like a connector is loose or something but I can't figure it out. It will be off then all of a sudden it will start to read. Any suggestions? I appreciate it.

just the tach itself? If a connector were loose I would think the whole thing would cut out with it.
