adding part time helper leafs
so im adding 2 add on helper springs in my rear leafs..what would you guys/girls guess is the MAX limit of my truck after this? would i be able to tow cars w/o any issue? and what would be the biggest car/trailer combo id be able to tow before needing either A. new leafs, or B. full-time helpers
skip the helper springs and get ride assist airbags. they're cheaper and work better. they support either 2000 or 5000 lbs before sag. Cant say that about the helper springs...
the bags are not cheaper then the 30 buck 1500lbs springs at discount auto the bags are what? 300-400 bucks?
and sides, i dont tow enough to justify getting the bags..i only tow once even 3-4 months

The bags are about $200 and if you "don't tow enough" you surely don't need helper springs. Been there, done that and they suck b*lls with an empty bed or when not towing. But to each his own...
I have a set of helper springs on my truck, it didn't affect the ride at all for me. I pulled a 20' camper often to trails and races and it only sagged 1 1/2" loaded down with the camper, 1 Dirtbike, and gear etc.
Ones from discount suckk.. i had them on mine, broke the little metal like ubolt that bolts it to the leaf pack. They're cheap, and made even cheaper IMO. I have the hellwig over the leaf helpers now, they handle 2800lbs, and didnt effect my ride at all (they're adjustable). Still rides like a truck.
well i just need a set for this weekend..im going to lake land to pick up an RX-7 possibly. so unless there is someone that is in lakeland/polk county that has a set of helpers that would want 30 bucks+a 1200 watt 12" xplod sub and give me there helpers then imma have to get the discount ones..money is an issue here..

well the thing is..id only have them on when i was towing..when not towing they would be off the truck sitting in my tool box..
If you are only hauling an RX-7 I wouldn't even worry about helpers. If you load the car right you can have just about all the weight of the car on the trailer and not on the truck. I have a 24 ft enclosed trailer that my dad bought to haul his Cuda to car shows...Unfortunately, the trailer has been used WAY more to help my friends move. Granted when I had the trailer PACKED to the gills with their crap, the truck sagged a bit, but I have a weight distribution hitch...which would be MUCH easier than messing around putting helper springs on and off and on and off...even if only every 3-4 months.

Like this one. But like I said if only towing a car, you shouldn't NEED anything...I still load the car to where I need to used mine because I think it helps a bit with trailer sway as well. So I pull the car a little further ahead, make truck sag, then take the sag out with the hitch. I have done so much crap with my truck that I shouldn't have, but this hitch helps it out A LOT...I should have a 3500 truck, but don't cuz this hitch works wonders for me.
