Thumbs up Decided on wheels/tires need help w/ details! PICS

So after a ton of brain numbing research i decided to ditch my 20's and go for 17" wheels. I am also cheap/poor (just outa college) and decided on cheap rims- Cragar Soft 8s black in color. I am planning on mounting 285/75/17 Nitto Terra Grapps (lil bigger tire, good driving habbits, and pretty dec price @ $207 per tire).

Heres my question:
Should i go with the 17x9 on a 5" backspacing OR 17x8 on a 4.5" backspacing
Again, here are the vital stats:
Tire: 285/75/17 NTG's
Truck: '07 1500 QCSB 4x4 in Mineral Grey w/ a 2" level

MAINLY, I want the tires to look right on the wheels, not too skinny and I dont mind if the tires stick out a lil bit cuz i want to get fender flares eventually.

If you're getting flares and want the tires to stick out, the 17x8 would be the better choice. Either one would work though, you are only looking at a half inch difference

I have the 17x9s with 4.5" backspace....and I have 295/70-17 Nittos Terra Graps....
and I have a 2" level....but I am 2WD....

anyway, it looks great, works great, etc.....

The 285s were taking over a week longer to get, so I got the 295s. They are almost exactly the same height and width. I got em for $172 each. Yep, its true......

Discount Tire matches pricing down here.....so there you go.

Oh yeah...my center caps are the stock Dodge chrome ones painted and cleared.

I'd go with the 17x9s, good choice on both I might add, the steel wheels are a little heavier than an aluminum would be, but still MUCH lighter than 20" stockers. I have the Terra Grapps on my Grand Cherokee and have a set of 17x9 soft 8s sitting in my buddy's tire shop in Georgia, just have to get my a$$ up there and get them...

I have kd addicts but 305/70/17 tire which i think fill up the wheel wells perfect with a leveled front end. But yours being the new coil front end, i don't know if the tires will rub or not. My older style torsion bar setup accommodates the tire perfectly.
