Well, I have an '05 so I don't know a whole bunch about the model years that you're looking at, but I'm pretty sure that in 2009 the horsepower jumped to 390 from 345, plus the new body design.

You definitely won't get the mileage that you did with the Journey, but I'm sure you already realize that.

I don't think you can go wrong with 08 or 09 but if it was my decision it would be an 09.

That being said, what did you think about your Journey? I'm thinking about getting one to replace my wife's Pontiac Torrent. She wants a 3 row vehicle but not a van and the Journey is one that we are seriously considering.

p.s. sorry to hijack your thread so soon.

i'd get the 08. its gonna cost less and it has all the kinks worked out being the last of a generation. as i rule of thumb i try to not buy the first year in a generation (my 03 is an exception cause the deal was too good to pass up)

thanks for the inputs, I'll take it into consideration.

I love my dodge journey a lot, it just that it so happen that i cannot use it as a work vehicle(boxes delivery, etc). some people say journey mileage is bad, but I got decent mileage with it. I will still buy a dodge journey given the circumstances. if my wife gets here in canada, I will definitely buy one for her.

thanks, that came into my mind too. I just happened to like the 09 cause of the new rear suspension that I've read in the reviews and a more aggressive look imo.

I don't know anything about the 09/10's but they sure look good.

That's the old adage "The last year of old technology is always better then the first year of new technology".

I disagree and Im with AF. I think every first generation of any car has kinks in it they have to work out. The first model year is the testing grounds for the real world. There are just things that have to get out with mass production that they won't find in test models and on tracks.

I agree somewhat. I bought a first-of-the-generation Chevy ('88 1500). It had some seriously STUPID design issues.

I've read the seats are not as comfortable in the later Gen IIIs. BTW, unless you're specifically referring to the Hemi, Gen III started with the '02 MY.

At one point in time, I was considering trading my '03 on an '11 in '13. I may yet, but the plugs in the Gen IVs are even more inaccessible than the Gen III and my truck is doin' just fine.
