Question Gears

How do I find out what gears I have? 3.92 or 3.55? 3.55 is more for towing right and 3.92 is for street performance?

Easiest way is to get a VIN sheet print out of all the option on your truck.

The higher the numbered gears re, the better for both towing and performance but when coupled with smaller rims/tires it can cause higher RPMs which mean more gas being used.

3.55s would be worse for towing and performance, better for highway fuel economy...

It would depend on your area and who you had to do it but Ive never seen anyone wanting to downgrade gears before.

thats not down grading.. he has 3.55 now and wants to go with 4.56 that would be an upgrade for torque and pulling power

Good price would be about $600 per axle for gears, install kit and labor...
