Default exploded spark plug

I was down in Kentucky, and on the way, I started loosing power. It got so bad that by the middle of last week, I could only get 60 mph with my foot to the floor in 4th. Went to the dealer, because it takes months to find a good mech. at home, so I had no other choice on the road. 2 spark plugs were missing the ceramic from around the electrode on the bottom of the plug, and it had 5 yes, 5 fouled fuel injectors. They did a set of plugs, and were able to clean 3 of the f/i. 2 needed to be replaced. At least I know what started the ticking noise in the motor about a month after I changed the plugs. Change em every 30,000 and still have problems.

Any reason the plugs would do that?

You sure that you put the right plugs in? Just a little deeper into the head and all kinds of bad thing can happen.

I think the main reason a plug will come apart is detonation aka "knock". That may have been caused by the fouled injectors causing a lean mixture, which will knock. Sounds like the source of the problem is some seriously bad gas. Did you buy gas someplace where they were sneaking that E15 garbage into the pumps? Using any additives in your gas?

Detonation comes to mind as a possible way that could have happened.

Are fhese stock plugs, oem or are they the platinum jobs. If the latter ,go back too stock. It can't hurt, besides you only have eight of them. Not 16 like others. 5.7 hemi. 5.9 etc.

Stock Champion #318 truck plug. Only 2 looked bad, the rest looked fairly new with about 18,000 on the set. Stock dealer set in there now. Just pulled all of them again last night, and they looked good. The two that were bad looked like the ones on the link from Big Wheel. I think they must have been dropped at the store, Because if I drop one, it gets thrown out and replaced.
