Wanting to level my ram
It's a 2004 1500, 2wd, reg cab, long bed. The back sits an inch or two higher than the front. I need a way to lower the back or raise the front cheaply. My cousin told me I could flip the shackles for the leaf springs which would lower it in the back but I don't know if this is safe.
Go to www.moesperformance.com, click dodge ram, suspension, and buy the mcgaughys drop shackles. They are $75 with free shipping and they should level it. Mine are in the mail and I hope to have them on soon. Everyone on here says they take 20-45 minutes to put on yourself. I tried the front coil spacers to lift the front and that did nothing, plus since its only 2wd no real reason to raise it.

So what are you two guys saying? You dont like my lift 2wd????
Motormodable - dont listen to them man. If you wanna lift it then you lift it. You can buy coil spacers (prices vary) to go in the front, CST 3" lift springs for $180 or 3" lift spindles for $300
Now if you wanna drop it then you drop it but all of that is up to you. Do you wanna scrub the ground or ride up high? Its your call.

The flip kit your cousin mentioned is safe, but it would lower the rear too much and you'd be riding nose high. The flip kit lowers the rear about 4" and comes as the standard solution for a 2/4 drop.
Like weed said, if you wanna lift it, you can lift it too. There are solutions for both. all depends on what you want your rig to look like

Weed you are always assuming people don't like your lifted 2wd lol and you know what happens when you assume? you make an "***" out of "u" and "me". Anyways, yes do as you please it is your truck. My opinion is if you dont care about how you do it then you might as well lower it since I know from my experience lifting the front doesn't work well.

Under $100 in parts for simple drop shackles OR coil spacers. Up to you, but either way, installation can be done yourself. You will need an alignment if you go the spacer route...
Thanks for all the responses guys. I've thought about it and I think I'm going to lower it just because I think I'll like it more and stock rims and tires will probaly look even more tiny with a lift. Would put it on 24s but I need new subs and I'm saving up for a crotch rocket.
