E Cutout or SuperChip
Hey all,
I happened upon this site looking for info on a SuperChip for my 04 1500 Hemi QC - I have installed a K&N FIPK and Flow Masters cat back already and was looking for a little more. I do some towing 24' camper but thats about it. My thought was next to get the SuperChip and move along while looking at some of the signatures on the site I kept reading "E-Cutout" so I looked it up and they seem pretty bad *** !! Now my thoughts are stuck between the two - I cant purchase both, otherwise Id still be lurking
, my Q is which would lend more performance wise ?
This is an everyday day vehicle and takes my family pretty much everywhere but when Im alone I like think Im Big Daddy Don Garlits in a 4x4 , So if you were to choose for your own vehicle which would you do?

You can purchase both. Get the SC3865 and but just the cutout (Flowtech) pipe from Dave at DMH for $30.
It will not be an electric cutout but a manual where you have to go under the truck and take off and put on the blocking plate. Later on you can get a DMH valve new or pick one up used off the boards.

superchips 3865...then down the road buy a raceland e-switch and blast they are like a 100,,.....the s/c will help everyday along with added power you could see more mpg's thats what alot a ppl think about ....i run a 91 performance tune with 93 octane and i saw a good 3mpgs when not hammering on it...the e-cut out is for the fun when the kids and or wife is not in the truck you can have a blast with it....these are just my opinions...
Thanks guys for your thoughts. Is the SC3865 the newest model ? I'll put my order in next week and get the raceland cutout later on when I can free up more $$
Another Q -- I am going to change my plugs as well is there any particular brand that is better ? I know I need 16 and I have, I think, found install instructions here (??) that had pictures and used NGK V-Power plugs

i use ngk v-power cause i like em and i run them in everything...but if you choose a plug make sure its a copper core dont let them talk you into platinum's or e3 or some other high priced junk...yes 3865 is latest they have a cortex that only benefits if your the original owner of the truck....before you do your plug change i think you need a good swivel for the hemi and i think a few guys use a section of hose to get them in and started dont quote me but...i have a 4.7l and have 8 plugs so....and i use 2 different sockets to take em out and put back....
well tight but remember less is more...i snug them in i always have i have a tq wrench but i dont use it on my plugs...

Everything that man has said.x2. The plugs I just did 5hrs. It's methodical. Dothe left side first those are the hardest after the first half hour or so you'll only have 12 or so left. But they are easier. i had a good sparkplug socket, But I dropped it in a well (fumble fingered) get your self a magnetic retrieval tool. I used the swivel plus two 7 inch ext, and a 3inch ext too reach the rear most plugs. Forget about getting next to the valve cover, It's not happening. I also got the sc, I'm on a 87 tune till I get the right octane in her then it'll be the 91 tune. Hope it helps.
I read threw a previous E-cutout forum section, what kind of performance advantages can you expect from the cutout. If it will only make it louder, not much of a benefit, but if it comes with a nice power boost, you have my attention.
Yea I figured it would take a while - I'll take a Friday off and take my time install the SC and plugs - Im thinking I should have everything by the 22nd or 23rd of July and give myself the time to finish.
