you can get good prices on them on ebay. I just bought a brand new one last week for right at 60. There are tons of them on there.

Ok, thanks. The only stock exhaust I've taken a close look at was an '08 Hemi. There were no clamps accept the one about 3' in front of the muffler. The hangers were laid out differently for some reason. Not sure why they'd bother changing something like that.

A magnaflow xl turbo goes for like $46 on ebay

Ah must be a 08 thing, my bad. If it doesnt have a clamp on the back of the muffler then you will definitely have to cut off the tail pipe to get it out from under the truck.

And how quiet is this thing? No droning on the hwy? No loud rumble on start up? Maybe just a little bit more rumble than stock under heavy load?

Yeah, I was initially looking for anyone with a 3rd gen, Hemi crew cab and found this dude with an '08. Everything about the exhaust was different. Most notably the muffler hangers were about 7" apart vs 14" for mine.

It may not be what you want. i just watched a few videos on youtube and it sounded kind of loud. maybe thats why it was cheaper.

Met with the dude that has the '05 4.7L. It looks like it should bolt straight in. Lots of clamps, unlike the '08 and all the hangers are in the same spot. We're getting together on Saturday to actually do the job.

Does anyone know if I can just have a regular copy of the key made? It doesn't look thick enough to be the type that has the little RFID in it.

Well, guess what...

They both looked to be the same diameter but I thought to myself about 5 times during the last week that I needed to break out the calipers and actually measure the 4.7L's exhaust and compare that to mine but it kept slipping my mind.

I got to the dude's house and we just started pulling stuff apart. Well, the 5.7L had 2.5" tubing and the 4.7L had 2.25". To make things more confusing the rear sections were both like 2.75" but choked down to fit in the muffler.

Anyway we ended up putting his exhaust back in his truck and I left mine off. It's loud but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Less drone than with the flowmaster in.

Off to the junkyard on Monday to try to find an '04-05 Hemi quad cab exhaust.
