New to this forum.... hello.. my question is ... I have an 04 Ram 1500... go in the truck the other day and heard a loud noise... long story short... the whole wind shield is loose... can push up from the inside... got an estimate to get fixed 110 ... .the guy who has been in the auto body business has never heard of a windshield coming loose...it has been really hot here just wondering if sitting outside in the heat with the windows up loosed up the windshield glue.. anyone heard of this issue... thanks.. scott

 

I used to work in a glass shop for about 3 years. Its rare but it does happen. Its more seen when the windshield has been replaced before. Prior to the installation, If you dont clean and properly prime the pinchweld and glass, the urethane(the glue) will actually pull up after awhile. Mostly from shutting the doors, bumps in the road, cabin pressure, etc..

 

Mine too, with 33K miles when I slam the doors the air pulse pops the windshield. Makes a loud rattle. Loose at top pushing inside. I got a mobile repair coming out today to reseal the windshield. $65. Everyone I called said glass may crack coming out.
