Default electrical question

Hi guys, I have a 2002 ram 1500 slt crew cab that needs an electrical wire harness. The harness connects from under the dash up to what I believe is the ignition switch. That's where I'm getting lost, I type in ignition switch on the net and I get several different part images for that heading and none of them look like the part I need. The part is connected to the left side of the steering column and has about 18 wires connected to it. When removed from the column and unclipped , the inside looks like a computer mother board. If the wiring harness is not hooked up to this switch absolutely nothing works, it seems like the switch controls the entire truck. If anyone can give me the part name then I can possibly find it from the net or maybe an auto parts store. Thanks.
