Spirito, you and everyone else who's ever experienced the 1500 clip failure should file a complaint with NHTSA. Rear-end locking up is a safety issue. It's complaints there that have brought Toyota to their knees over the floormats and rusting frames on their trucks. If enough Ram owners would complain there would be a recall.

Good luck! Fortunately I had the clips removed before they imploded on my 1500.

Wow, looks like an after market lsd is going on the future mod list as well. Sorry to hear about your troubles, but it sounds like there are some good suggestions on here to not only save you some money but get a better product to boot.

its not that we are against an lsd just the stock ones chrysler uses....buy a auburn like stated 400 and 4.56 gears by motive at moes performance.com with a master bearing kit costs 279.99 free shipping...he may even have a package deal on the auburn and gears with master kit for a good price go check it out...i paid 250 in my area using a performance shop that specializes in chrysler rear ends. it took me a week to find a good shop and they did a phenomenal job. i even had many talks with the guy before and after he did it. my 500 mile break just ended so synthetic fluids go in by him this week.....good luck man and take it back from the stealership....

Just out of curiosity, IF this happened and your vehicle was out of warranty AND your dealer were to insist on charging you for the repair, what exactly kind of "good time" would your lawyer have?

I would guess since you use those "KM" things, that you are in Canada? I KNOW for a fact that there would be no legal obligation for Dodge, the dealership or anyone else to fix the problem here in the US. Just curious on what kind of restitution is on the books in Canada that offers compensation for a failed item that is outside of the warranty period?

The previous owner of mine replaced the rear-end with a junkyard rear just before I bought it. He gave me the receipts for both the junkyard axle and the labor to install it. It ran him 1700 total. He did replace it with another LS rear axle. Are there any aftermarket c-clips that would eliminate this issue? I can replace them myself if there are.

Dodge have been turning their cheeks on this since at least 2003. I reported this fault to the NTSA 4 years ago and even though I'm here in the il, they at least acknowledged me.
Things will only change when due to this clip failure when someone loses their life????
