Default weird place to find oil...

hey guys so i just finally got around to changing my plugs. and found oil on the right bank of the engine in about 3 or 4 plugs. i havent noticed any oil being consumed but if i let me oil changes go a little longer then 5000kms i notice a puff of smoke coming out of the exhaust when i start it up.
anybody seen this before?

Smoke at startup is often an indication of valve seals going away. I don't think it matters how often the oil is changed. I guess it could, since the viscosity breaks down over time. How many miles?

do you do your own oil changes?
sometimes when certain shops fill it up they will miss the fill spout and the the spot around the plug is the first place it goes.
or possibly small valve cover leak
